Join the Dream Team. Your Future in Turbomachinery Starts Here! Undergraduate & Graduate Research Assistant Positions Available!!
The Turbomachinery Laboratory at Hanyang University is actively recruiting students passionate about turbomachinery, with a specific focus on rotordynamics, fluid film bearings, dampers, and seals. Ideal candidates will have strong interests in dynamics, vibrations, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer. If this sounds like you, we want to hear from you! Please send your resume (CV) and a short statement of purpose outlining your research interests to Dr. Keun Ryu (kryu@hanyang.ac.kr). Our graduate students thrive with full BrainKorea 21 FOUR (BK21 FOUR) support, including tuition waivers, international conference travel funding, and global research opportunities.

About Turbomachinery Laboratory at Hanyang University

We are pioneering technologies to enhance efficiency and performance in advanced and emerging propulsion and power systems. As specialists, we engage in research, development, design, and analysis of rotordynamics, bearings, seals, and dampers. Our expertise extends to extremely high-speed rotor systems, thriving even in hot or cryogenic temperatures, encompassing rocket engine turbopumps, microturbines, and turbochargers. We are committed to delivering reliable solutions and continually exploring the forefront of innovation!

A sustainable, energy-efficient, reliable, and clean propulsion and power system — Accelerating the transition by advancing turbomachinery component technology

We provide practical, comprehensive, and innovative engineering solutions by conducting fundamental and advanced research on the performance and reliability of modern turbomachinery in a state-of-the-art facility.

We concentrate on experimentally validated computational fluid film models to predict the static and dynamic forced performance of fluid film bearings, seals, and dampers. We conduct extensive measurements and predictions of rotordynamics for modern turbomachinery.
